The program from 1960 BHS graduation with the list of seniors.
The lower license plate receipt is posted for a contrast to today's complicated auto registering. I understand Mississippi is very expensive depending on the age of the vehicle. Here in Hardin County, Tennessee we can register any age vehicle for 60 - 75 dollars a year.
I wonder what the 25% damage charge was for?

Surely Ms Sansom will be playing at the Pearly Gates.
ReplyDeleteWas "Sale" Martin his real name???
ReplyDeleteBB
That is his real name. At least that's what is on his grave marker and US Army record.
ReplyDeleteAh yes, the day we stayed at home by the fire. A snow day! Ole B.H.S. stayed closed for almost 13 days during the ice storm of 1951.
ReplyDeleteWho was Rex Haygood????
ReplyDeleteRex transferred to BHS from Cedar Hill in about the 10th grade-graduated in 1961
ReplyDeleteMilton--have u seen Joe C'hams statement about the deaths of Bruce & Sandra Putt Hurt--i havent heard about that-have you?? Ellen Ann would know
ReplyDeleteYes, I had found Bruce's date of death earlier and sent it in to Carl for the "In Memoriam" file.
ReplyDeleteI was greatly saddened to hear Joe's news about Sandra. We lost another much loved classmate. I did look up the Social Security record and sent the exact date to Carl.
By the way, speaking of the 1951 ice storm, that 39 Chevy on the pictured tag receipt bit the dust during that storm so Mom later went to Henderson's and purchased a new 1951 Chevy Fleetline Deluxe for $2079. Being a pack rat I still have the bill of sale!
That picture of the school in the snow is great.
ReplyDeleteNot only will Mrs Sansom be playing at the pearly gates, but Mrs. Martin will be there to read to us, also!
