Main street has been renovated to modern standards, including handicapped ramps at corners, unlike the rough piled-up concrete in the above photo. These sidewalks were laid in the 1930's, I believe.

The sidewalk in front of FMB was where the old men gathered on Saturdays to solve the problems of the world. Gosh, I'd like to spend one more Saturday in Baldwyn - circa 1956.
ReplyDeleteThese days they solve those problems in the "old" Chevrolet dealership now called Kings Resturant. I can still see the cars of the day parked on that floor :)
ReplyDeleteOnce again the restaurant has changed names. It's now City Cafe, run by Jackie and Brenda Cole.
